Yesterday, I received my much anticipated copy of Rebecca Moses's A Life of Style that answers the questions that have often haunted me: Do I have style? Can I catch it? Can I buy it?
I haven't made it through the whole book just yet, but so far, so good. I enjoy (and maybe buy into) the idea that inorder to discover and refine your own unique sense of style, you must first cultivate your five senses: sight, hearing, touch, smell, taste....and your six sense will emerge: the style sense.

With page after page of colorful collages, Moses goes on to discuss the importance of accepting, owning and leveraging our uniqueness. And finding a way to communicate our style not only in our wardrobe, but also in makeup, scent, interior design--even our handbags.
Ironically enough, while I was perusing one of my favorite blogs, The Simply Luxurious Life, I stumbled across a series of posts (only partly inspired by Rebecca Moses' book) that provided additional insight on how to find your signature style. I recommend reading all 3 components of the series, and adding this blog to your daily reads. The Founder and Editor, Shannon Ables, has that inate ability to give advice--really, really, great life advice--without sounding like a know-it-all, or making you feel like a moron. She writes with grace and class, and she knows about living a stylish, yet simple, life.
Danielle - a very well written post and love the quote you started it all with. So very true. I am flattered that you mentioned my blog. Thank you very much. I will be including a link to this post under Thanks for the Mention on my right-hand column. Thank you for taking the time to stop by so often. Your email was something that made me smile, and what you wrote is why I write. Thank you again. xo
