What's this?

Let's be honest, Zac wouldn't
 make it in prison.
I've been rooting for Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens since the very beginning.  They aren't the type of couple that I would usually get behind for a couple reasons.  First, I tend to be revolted by sugary-sweet couples of all varieties (see: Taylor Swift and Taylor Lautner, Faith Hill and Tim McGraw, Cameron Diaz and anyone at all).  Also, I think Vanessa seems a little dumb -- she's without a doubt a beautiful girl, but she has a little bit of that dead-behind-the-eyes thing like Jessica Simpson and Audrina Patridge -- and I generally don't like stupid people.  Finally, I have a visceral reaction when couples who are younger than me are all happy and rich together.  I realize that now that I'm in my mid-twenties, I'm probably going to have to get over this particular affliction, since pretty much every new celebrity is going to be younger than me...  (Hold on a second while I slit my wrists)

Anyways, despite all the reasons not to, I love Zac and Vanessa.  Maybe it's our mutual affection for hair product, or because their love played out in a series of choreographed dances in HSM.  Maybe it's because they made it acceptable (acceptable may be too strong a word...) to use "wildcat" as a term of endearment, or it's simply because I wish the rest of my life could feel as good as my high school musical.  Whatever the reason, I'm in their corner.  I'm even willing to overlook her stupid sneaker song and the horrible Oscars dance of 2009.  When I'd heard they had broken up a few months ago, I was pretty broken up myself.  Then US Weekly let me know that they had been canoodling around LA, and so when I saw they were both in NYC for Fashion Week, I assumed it was a done deal that they were back on.  Until I came across this during my nightly perusal of photos from fashion week:
Maybe she's just telling him to start breaking into song to liven up his dull-as-cement
plot-line on Gossip Girl.  Actually, we should probably look into this idea...
Maybe I'm overreacting, but I don't like this one bit.  Hopefully, they were just trading tips on how to stay on top in young Hollywood when you have no ability to actually act.

  1. haha I agree, while she is very pretty she definitely looks vapid. I guess it's true, you can't win em all. I haven't seen GG in a couple weeks (laziness and a 'meh' attitude toward GG), have I missed anything epic?

  2. Not at all, the return from hiatus has been b-o-r-i-n-g. Totally disappointing because i thought the beginning of the season was good.

  3. I agree with Kate. This second of the of the season has been a snore fest. Serena's dating the english teacher turned convict. Chuck is in love with this corporate enemy's daughter (not believable at all) and blair and dan are friends.

Actually, that is probably the only part i have been enjoying. The new friendship.
