Put down your tattered copy of 50 Shades...

And pick up a copy of Gone Girl.

Seriously.  Do it now.  I'll wait.

...

Gillian Flynn's latest novel is not your fluffy summer beach reading (which I love).  It is not mommy porn (which I love.)  It is not a predictable crime mystery (which I love.)  It is not a self-deprecating rom-com look at singledom (which I love).

Rather, it is an intense, troubling and well-written look at marriage gone horribly, horribly wrong.  It is a thriller that will keep you reading past midnight.  Keep you thinking about it long after you finished the last page.  And all that other crap book reviewers tell you.

Seriously.  Even my sister liked it.

Do it to it.   You can thank me later.
