The horrifying truth is that women are silenced everyday on issues that effect them more than anyone else. Sometimes these are big, political issues like abortion and birth control, but, more often, they are quiet, private and, perhaps, more deeply insidious. It's 2012, and women do not have the same power as men. Period. This is a problem the has profound effects in our society and our lives and if you think it's not true, you're kidding yourself. Women and men need to demand that women are heard, valued and respected as full citizens in politics, in the workplace, in the community, and in their homes.
