I'm so cold, yeah you that hot tottie

Dude. Did you ever notice that Usher seemingly never ages?

Take a minute and think about it. To help make my point, we'll do a little raymond vs. raymond comparison.

Behold Usher in 1997:

And now, Usher in 2010:

See what I'm saying? He's a freaking modern day Peter Pan.

I respect it. And honestly, I'm jealous of it.

While we are being honest, I'll admit that I'm curious about his skincare regime. I've never seen him on the annoying 9 minute proactive commercial, and so I'm assuming his skincare system is more sophisticated than that. Sidenote: If anyone has any insight into Usher's fountain of youth, please let me know.

Skincare aside, did you ever notice how Usher's style has never dramatically changed? Although, he has been on the scene for almost 15 years, he hasn't gone through endless image transformations like so many other artists. Usher had yet to feel the need to reinvent himself.

Please don't misunderstand me. I live for makeovers. I love that Madonna has changed her hair no less than 108 times. I love that Britney Spears is a phoenix. And while Tom Brady's shaggy man-bangs and accompanying mullet aren't really my cup of tea, I respect his attempt at trying something new.

That said, there is something to be said about Usher Raymond's steady sense of style.

He sticks to the basics. Crisp white button-downs. Black sunglasses. Pristine sneakers. Complementary ties. Euclidean vests. And abs that don't quit.

Oh hello there, Usher's abs....

But perhaps the most important quality to notice about Usher is that his music has a classic sound that not only appeals to a broad audience, but also never gets old.

From "You Make me Wanna" to "My Way" to "OMG", we just keep tearing it up on the dancefloor. On the other hand, in songs like "Confessions Part II", we feel his pain (and guilt?) ooze through the hook. The simply titled "Yeah"--a brilliant colloboration with Ludacris and Lil John--happens to be one of my father's favorite songs.

If you are not familiar with Usher's music, I recommend that you run to iTunes right now and download "Burn", "My Boo", and of course, a current favorite of mine "Hot Tottie."

A man who never ages. An icon who never loses his sense of style. A musician who never disappoints and never stops inspiring me to dance? That man is a magician.

That man is in my wolfpack.

  2. I don't think you have considered the glaringly obvious alternative. VAMPIRE.
